Stock visibility, down to the bin.

Real-time inventory across warehouses and locations. Barcode picking, FEFO/FIFO routing, kitting, and replenishment that breaks the stockout-vs-carrying-cost trade-off.

Why inventory accuracy stays stuck at 80% — and how to get to 98%.

Most distribution and manufacturing companies live with 75-85% inventory accuracy and call it normal. At 80% you get stockouts, overstock, quarterly count discrepancies, and finance postings that don't match operational reality.

The gap between 80% and 98% is operational discipline software enables. Odoo enforces barcode movements, routing rules, and logged adjustments. We've taken several clients from 72-82% to 96-99% within 6 months — barcode workflows kill ghost moves, automated replenishment, cycle-count discipline catches discrepancies daily.

— Our methodology

How we deliver Odoo — structured, rehearsed, rollback-tested.

Every Odoo engagement we take on runs through the same seven-phase delivery methodology — structured discovery, parallel configuration and data migration, rehearsed cutovers with tested rollback paths, role-based training, and 4-8 week hypercare. Refined across 50+ implementations including one of our largest engagements to date.

— Questions

Inventory — common questions.

Can you do wave picking?
Yes. Odoo supports batch picking, wave picking, zone picking, and cluster picking with handheld devices. We configure the right pick strategy based on warehouse layout, SKU velocity profile, and throughput. For very high-volume operations we sometimes layer in a dedicated WMS like Manhattan or Snapfulfil, but for most mid-market warehouses Odoo handles it directly.
Does it handle lot and serial numbers?
Yes, and this is required for our pharma, food, and aerospace clients. Full traceability forward (where did this lot go?) and backward (what went into this product?) is native. We configure automatic lot capture during receiving, lot selection during picking, and traceability reports for recalls or audits.
What about expiration dates and FEFO?
Odoo supports lot-level expiration dates with automatic First-Expired-First-Out picking logic. We configure near-expiry alerts and expired-stock write-off workflows for perishable goods.
Can it integrate with automation equipment?
Yes. We've integrated Odoo with conveyor sortation, pick-to-light, voice-pick, and AS/RS systems via API or middleware. The right choice depends on throughput and existing equipment.
How does multi-warehouse transfer work?
Inter-warehouse transfers are first-class: create a transfer, pick at source, ship with carrier integration, receive at destination, stock updates automatically. We configure routing rules so systems can auto-suggest transfers to balance stock across locations.
Does it work with our existing handheld devices?
Odoo's barcode interface runs in any modern browser, so most Android or iOS devices work. For dedicated rugged handhelds (Zebra, Honeywell) we configure purpose-built scan workflows that work offline and sync on reconnection.
What's the typical implementation timeline?
For a mid-size single-warehouse deployment with 5-20 users, barcode workflows, 1-2 shipping integrations, and data migration: 10-14 weeks. Multi-warehouse or automation-integrated deployments run longer.
