Manufacturing ERP from floor to finance.

Discrete, process, or hybrid. 80+ manufacturer rollouts. MRP, production planning, quality, maintenance, and shop-floor visibility in one system.

Why manufacturing ERP is uniquely hard — and how we handle it.

Manufacturing is where ERP meets reality. A CRM order becomes a BOM, work order, procurement trigger, quality gate, inventory move, revenue posting, and cost variance — often the same day. One broken handoff stalls a line.

Odoo across discrete, process, and hybrid operations — configuration patterns built over 80+ engagements. We integrate with Wonderware, Ignition, and custom MES so real cycle times feed costing and real downtime triggers maintenance.

— Capabilities

Manufacturing operations in one platform.

— Honest fit

Is Odoo right for your manufacturing operation?

Strong fit

  • Mid-market manufacturers (50-2,000 employees) across discrete, process, or hybrid
  • Multi-plant operations needing consolidated visibility
  • Companies outgrowing QuickBooks + Excel + standalone MRP tools
  • Manufacturers wanting real integration between shop floor and finance
  • Operations with serious compliance needs (food, pharma, aerospace)

Less ideal fit

  • Very large process manufacturers with deep SAP S/4HANA deployments
  • Niche operations needing specialized platforms (semiconductor fabs, pharma API)
  • Single-product operations where a standalone MRP tool is sufficient
  • Companies unwilling to invest in process standardization across plants
— Questions

Manufacturing — questions we hear.

Does Odoo handle process manufacturing?
Yes — formula management, co-products, by-products, batch consolidation, and yield variance. We've deployed it in food, chemicals, cosmetics, and specialty chemical manufacturers. For very complex pharma or biotech operations with strict compliance (21 CFR Part 11, GMP validation) we configure an Odoo deployment with extended audit and validation workflows.
What about multi-plant consolidation?
Multi-company Odoo with inter-company transfers, consolidated reporting, and shared master data. Each plant can have distinct processes (different shift patterns, routings, quality plans) while rolling up to group with standardized master data. We've consolidated groups with 10-30+ manufacturing plants.
Do you integrate with MES or SCADA?
Yes — we've integrated Odoo with Ignition, Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, and bespoke MES platforms. Real-time production data flows into Odoo for planning and costing. Materials consumed at work centers update inventory automatically. Production completions trigger WIP-to-FG moves and cost postings.
Does it support sophisticated BOM structures?
Yes — multi-level BOMs, phantom BOMs, by-product BOMs, route-dependent BOMs, and configurable BOMs (product variants). We've implemented it for engineered-to-order manufacturers with 5+ level BOMs.
How does production scheduling work?
Odoo native scheduling handles backwards scheduling from promised date, finite capacity checks, and constraint-based rescheduling. For complex discrete manufacturing with sequencing constraints (tool-change minimization, campaign planning) we sometimes integrate dedicated APS tools like Opcenter APS or Siemens Simatic IT.
What about aerospace / defense / medical device compliance?
Odoo can be configured for regulated manufacturing. For AS9100 aerospace, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 medical devices, or DOD contracts we configure extended audit trails, serial-level traceability, supplier qualification workflows, and nonconformance management. Validation packs for 21 CFR Part 11 require additional engineering — usually a 6-10 week effort on top of the implementation.
